Animation Nation Workshop

Overton School was fortunate enough to secure funding for one of the young people to participate in a personalised animation workshop.

The workshop showed the young person how to use Stop Motion with a staff member from Animation Nation. This young person has big aspirations of becoming an animator when he leaves school and this opportunity was made possible after a visit from Anna Featherstone who worked closely with our Careers Teacher Martin to plan and apply for funding to make his dream a reality. Prior to the workshop this young person created a storyboard of his vision, then during the workshop he was supported to create his background, characters and bring them to life using the Animation software. He was shown techniques used by the professionals which gave him the skills to turn his initial story board into an animation that he is able to keep on DVD. We all enjoyed the premier of his animation!
