Theatre Trip to Stratford upon Avon

A lovely time was had by all who participated in the Overton School trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon to see the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of A Christmas Carol starring Adrian Edmondson. As you may be able to imagine, it was a wonderfully visual spectacle, the sets were lavish and evocative of Victorian London. The themes explored in the play of social inequality, injustice and poverty seem to be relevant to our current society and led to some thought-provoking discussion on the way home.

It was a long drive, but all agreed that it was worth it as it is not every day that you get to see a truly world-class event such as this, and the students especially enjoyed the time spent before the play began exploring historic Stratford and the theatre shop!
