Othello Performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company

Pupils enjoy the play, reflecting its central themes of jealousy, manipulation, racism, honour, and love.

On Thursday the 7^th November Overton school took a group of students to visit the RSC theatre in Stratford on Avon to see a performance of Othello. The RSC is the most prestigious Shakespear theatre group in the world, and there were some famous faces in the cast. Most of the students were enraptured by the performance, and there were audible gasps during some of the more exciting events! Othello tackles some difficult themes which remain relevant today such as jealousy, abuse and racism. These became talking points in the vehicles on the way home!
