Students at Overton took part in three separate challenges for British Science Week.
They enjoyed making cars with a range of propulsion methods, including elastic bands, balloons and sails. They tried to beat gravity by balancing a golf club (or themselves) for as long as possible. We also linked to National Pi day and tried to learn as many digits of pi as possible. Additionally, some classes took part in lessons on space and AI which were kindly provided by On-demand lessons – TechSheCan and some watched the BBC’s Horrible Science lesson, British Science Week 2026 – Live Lesson – BBC Teach .
