Pride Celebrations at Overton

Celebrating Love, Equality and Diversity

Overton School celebrated Pride month with a Pride themed assembly during which students learned about the history of Pride and how it is celebrated today. Pupils were fortunate to hear real life experiences and why Pride holds such significance for so many. Students were busy being creative by making their own Pride themed placards and posters. Later in the week we held a Pride March in the garden, before celebrating Pride with a Party with decorations, dancing, cake and Makaton Pride anthems. The afternoon was a party full of colour and sparkle with the dress theme being rainbow disco ball! Pupils also learnt key Makaton signs for Equality, Diversity and Love.
