Home News & Events The Royal Forestry Society visit Overton
Overton School was very lucky to be visited by the Herefordshire and Worcestershire education officer, Tim, for the Royal Forestry Society in the summer term. Tim had a variety of educational activities which the students engaged in and learned from. At the beginning of the session the students tried to identify which animal a variety of skulls came from. Later in the day the students played tree bingo- which involves identifying trees from pictures of their leaves- not as easy as it sounds! Following this, the students were asked to use a measuring tape to work out how old the trees around the school site are: one oak tree is estimated to be 450 years old!
